My Fav Products Of 2011

Wednesday, December 28, 2011

After a long year of testing, reviews, shopping, and being introduced to stuff I would've never tried. Here is a list of some of my favs of 2011 that constant of beauty and everyday must haves. Now, there are a few repeats from 2010 but that goes to show that I must have and can't live without them. Let's begin!

Keurig K-Cup Home Brewer
I've heard so much about this machine and was not trying to believe the "Hype" until I had some ladies in a private group (EMJ) highly recommend it. In September I saw posted on a coupon site this amazing deal at Staples for the Keurig B40 that normally goes for $119.99 on sale for $69.99 w/coupon of $10.00 off bring it to $59.99. After help from a great GM in Lyndhurst, NJ he was able to find a machine for me and put it on hold. Well, that night changed my coffee experience forever.
Kcups are what holds the coffee grounds for an individual cup of coffee, teas, and hot chocolate. This thing is so convenient and life saving (being a new mom again). You can have a different cup of fresh coffee every time and none to go to waste. Keurig $98 & up. *Staples Shop At Home 4% cash back at Staples.

Other items that are not beauty related that made the list.

Need I say more? That's right it's on my list again for the second year in a row. I swear by this machine that has changed my life. I received this as an early Xmas gift from my Peanut (Olive Juice). The set came with a Cherry Blossom Clarisonic Plus and Bliss skin care w/ 3 brush heads.  Clarisonic Plus $216.48 *QVC Ebates & Shop At Home 6% cash back now.

Other beauty machine items that made the cut.

Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm
Tinted lip balm that was unveil late last year. Convenient and moisturizing. Fav color Richer Raisin. Clinique Chubby Stick $15 *Sephora Ebates 8% and Shop At Home 9%.

Makeup & nail products that also made the list.

Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector
I always tell my clients that without good skin care their makeup won't look the best it can look. I take it very serious since I've been suffering from adult acne since I was 23 and I think now after 10 years or so (no adding up to figure my age please) I have gotten control of it. With the help of my great dermatologist (TY Mr. & Mrs. Dr. Horn) and a great skin care routine I'm happy with the results. YAY! Here are a few of my favs of 2011.
Being a women of color (Latina) and dealing with adult acne I've had to deal with the effects of acne scars. Clinique's Even Better Clinical is really amazing. This stuff made me skin do a 180 and made it look better then when I was a teenager. Really broke down my acne scars and even out my skin tone. It's a bit of an investment but your skin deserves it. It is the largest organ on your body. Clinique's Even Better Clinical $49.50 & up. *Ebates 6% cash back

Thanks to all my followers and supporters for a great year and looking forward to 2012! xoxo

Oops 10 Makeup Mistakes Tag

Monday, August 15, 2011

Hey Glammies!!! I was doing my weekly blog reading and came across Makeup By Ren Ren blog post about   her 10 makeup mistakes. She saw it on youtube and decided to share and I thought this was a great idea since we all start somewhere. After I read Ren Ren's, I started thinking about my learning mistake then I really wanted to share mine.

Here they go.........

1. Apply lashes
I was always scared to try lashes on myself  for some odd reason and then lashes started really coming back into style and I had to learn. Applying lashes on clients is easy for me but sometimes a fight on myself to this day.
*Easy to apply lashes Kiss Premium Lashes
applying fake lashes

2.  Mascara?
Yes, you read right no mascara. When I was young (late teens-earlier 20's) I just never thought that I needed mascara and walked about looking blah. Once I really got into makeup and applied my first mascara, I never turned back again. Having short thin lashes I look sick without my mascara. *A few I like Maybelline Volum Express Colossal, L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black, MAC Opulash

3. No Primer?
Yup when I first started I NEVER used primer for face or eyes and then would wonder why my makeup would transfer, crease, or just wear off. Oh and could never wear white. DUH! Now I wouldn't dare to apply anything without primer.*Cover FX, Hourglass, Urban Decay, Lorac

4. What? I have to change my foundation from spring/summer to fall/winter?
I must have never got the memo about changing your foundation from season to season. Enough said.
*Revlon Photo Ready, OCC, Almay Smart Shade

5. What's tight lining?
Since I have baby lashes and again they are thin, I never thought about tightlining. What's tightlining you ask. Well, it when you apply liner on the top inner eyelid to make your eyes look bigger and lashes look thicker. If I don't do this I can see the differences on the look of my lashes. *Stila Kajal Eye Liner, Urban Decay Zero

6. Over concealing that pimple
I've been suffering from adult acne since I was 23 and I thought that adding more concealer and foundation was the best method to hide it.  Now I know that it's the opposite. Less is best! *Lancome Effacernes, Amazing Cosmetics, Eve Pearl

7. Brow fill in
I never saw the reason to fill in my brows until my earlier 20's when I started getting my brows done. I got curious one day and fill them in and have always filled in ever since that day. *Anastasia, NYX

8. Washing
I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't always wash my face at night and take my face off. Now, I must have facial wipes, Purity cleanser, and my Clarisonic. *ELF, Purity, Clarisonic

9. I'm scared of that eyelash curler
Scared I was but happy I took that leap to curl those baby lashes. Doing this opens up my eyes and adds volume. *Shu Uemura

10. Contouring
I always would contour my clients and just never myself until over 5 years ago when I started getting a bit older and face got a bit fuller. Now I'm prego and must contour this face since I'm swelling up. *ELF, MUFE,
