BTOTW (Beauty Tip Of The Week) Dec 13-17, 2010

I have gotten a lot of clients asking about concealer and how it should be applied. It depends how you apply foundations and what type of foundation you apply. If you use mineral powder foundation you can conceal after your foundation (mineral powder also) and sweep a bit of finishing powder after to set. If your using liquid foundation you can apply concealer before and after. Depends if your contouring and how much your trying to conceal. Make sure to apply a setting powder after you have used concealer. It help the concealer set and not crease.

On my daily regular makeup routine, I like to conceal after my foundation and here are a few of my favorite concealers.

Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer $35
It has a nice and creamy texture and blends super easy.

AmazingConcealer - A little amazing
Amazing Cosmetics Concealer $28

It Cosmetics $24

Camouflage Concealer
Cover Fx Concealer $27
This will conceal ANYTHING! It's also HD friendly.

Here is a tip to help with dry feet. Exfoliating is key to keeping your feet nice and soft. At night take a thicker cream or even Vaseline, apply on your feet with a nice pair of thick socks or softening socks. By morning, you will have softer feet. Below are a few items I can recommend and use myself on a daily basis.

The cold really does a number to your hair and the best way to take care of that is by using a deep conditioner. It's always good to deep condition if you color, perm, and use hot tools on that mane.  It help to add more moisture in your hair that the cold air takes away. Below are a few tips to use for different textures of hair.

Fine & Limp hair: Not to weigh your hair down, make sure to just apply on the below the roots to the ends.
Curly: Deep condition and use a leave in conditioner.
Normal: Deep condition 2-3x a month.
Perm & Colored Treated: Make sure to deep condition after any hair service and use products that fade resist.

A few items I can't live without.

This is for my curly hair Glammies out there. When washing your hair, it's best to apply your conditioner and comb or pick (which I prefer) your hair out to detangle those pesky curly knots out. Once your done rinse and air dry or you can also use a diffuser if your on the go.

Some of my fav products for my curly man are below.

It's Fashion Week in NYC! This season's colors are nudes and bold lips. I love these colors for fall but remember when wearing bold lips you have to even out the eyes with simple colors. You want those gorgeous lips to be the 1 thing outstanding on your face.

Applying eye makeup and having fall out? Here are a few ways to help with eyeshadow fall out. You can apply a translucent powder or finish powder like ELF High Def Powder or old school Coty Airspun. Apply to under eyes with a medium to heavy hand, and leave on while applying your eye makeup. Once your done you can use a large fluff brush to wipe away the translucent powder and any fall out. And your done!

Now, another way you can save your face from fall out is by using a tissue. Take a tissue like Kleenex, and fold to make a triangle and place under your eye. It takes some getting use to since you have to hold it in place while you apply your makeup. But once you get the hang of it, you good to go. Hope these little tips help!

Let's be real! Is you hair getting oily or just don't have time to wash your hair? Best thing you can do is use a dry shampoo for those in between washes. Or you can do it the old school style and add some baby powder on a brush or on the roots and brush out. It helps absorb the oils. Do this little by little. Below are a few products I can recommend from high to low price point.

Hi everyone I hope everyone had a great weekend! Well, this weeks BTOTW is making your pedicure last until your next pedicure. Now I myself, do my own pedicure because I'm picky and haven't found a salon I really like in North NJ. I have found that I do a better pedicure on myself, then I have ever had done and I know my items are sanitized. An option is taking your own items used for a mani & pedi to insure nice clean items are used.

Ok, on to making your pedicure last. A few things you can do to make your pedicure last are using a base so that the polish can adhere better to your nails and always using a top coat when your get your pedicure done. Applying your top coat every other day will  keep them nice and shiny.  Below are a few items I can recommend and also use myself. They can be found at Sally Beauty Supply store or on their website

I think with this heat going on all over the US this beauty tip works perfect for everyone. The beauty tip of the week is something we all know and use everyday. WATER! Yes, water is your best friend especially in the summer. It's used as a way to cool down inside and out of your body. Drink 8-8 oz of water a day or more is recommend and is what the largest organ on your body (your skin) requires to stay hydrated. Drinking water everyday helps you keep your skin looking clear, healthy, and helps with acne.

So remember water, water, water, water, water, water, water, and water.
