The Makeup Show Chicago Recap

Monday, June 24, 2013

I know I know!! I'm a bit late to the party of the recap of The Makeup Show Chicago but I say better late then never. Since leaving for the show on June 4th and now it's been crazy with travel, family, show, babies, and wedding season. It's been CRAZY!!!! But anyways, let me share with you photos of the show and a video will follow this week with the blogger event bag and the little haul I did at the show.

First at the blogger event on June 8, 2013, the wonderful and talented James Vincent shared info of the upcoming show and new things to keep an eye out for. It was a new location for this year's 3rd show and it was at the Bridgeport Art Center in the southside of Chicago. Everything this year was on 1 floor which was kool and the locations as always was really pretty. For those of you that don't know James (shown below), he's a self taught and talented makeup artist, sweetheart, down to earth, and all around teddy bear. If you don't know about him then make sure to click that link above to find out more.

He let us know of a few new faces that would be at the show such as the winner of Face-Off J. Anthony, Merrell Hollis a talented award winning makeup artist that has worked with a variety of celebrity, and Sutan Amrull better know for working with America's Next Top Model and season 3 winner of Rupaul's Drag Race and that's just a few to name. Plus of course the veterans like Emmy award winning Eve Pearl, Eugenia Weston for Senna Cosmetics, Crystal Wright, Lori Taylor with Smashbox Cosmetics, and last but not least Orlando Santiago (and that's naming just a few).

Over 3,500 makeup junkies attended this epic 2 days event and everyone was so excited to meet their idols, learn new things and shop, shop, and more shop. I even heard ladies saying this was their highlight of the year, this was their vacation, this was their heaven. And I must say that this is something I really look forward to every year since it's a great  and only show like it's kind to hit the midwest and I get to go home and hang with friends and family. I love Chicago!!!! Anyways... The place was packed and the energy was great. There was some new lines like AJ Crimson Beauty, Grande Lash MD, and the regulars OCC, Crown Brushes, Mehron, Bdellium Tools, and 1 of my favs and must have in your kit Embryolisse (ask for the sweet Michelle and tell her I sent you).

It was a fantastic show and thanks to the Metropolitan Event & Production, The Powder Group, Melody Joy from Melody Joy PR and everyone that makes these show's happen every year. Thanks for another great show and see ya in Orlando.
