Viviscal Final Review

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

The trial with Viviscal has come to an end. Booooooo!!! But no wait no Booooo since it went very well and I'm going back for more. Why you ask and does it REALLY work? Well, I'm going back cause it really does work and I'm so happy with the results. On my previous review I talked about my hair loss and thinning after having my baby Stormy and after taking this vitamin for 3 months I must say what a difference. Here are studies break downs from Viviscal.

Before starting I cut about 4-5 inches of hair. I was left with my hair just touching the top of my back. Now my hair is at my shoulders and feeling healthy, soft, and shiny. I also noticed that my nails grew faster, longer, and stronger. My skin hasn't looked this clear and healthy in years and I have brows again!!

Alright here is the proof. Before and after pics below.

Before

After

The difference from both the pics are in the before my hair was blown out and after is my natural curly hair.
As you can see from the pictures my hair has grown in and the front of my hairline is all new growth. That's where you see the little curls in front.

Overall my experience was great and I will be making an order very soon. Especially since they have this great deal going on their site. Buy 2 get 1 free so you're paying $99.99 for a 3 month supply.

Now I want to hear from my Glammies if you have tried it and your feedback. Let's chat!

*The company Viviscal provided me and 24 other bloggers with 3 month supply of product for an honest review. I was not paid for this review.

Viviscal Review and Giveaway

Saturday, March 24, 2012

So it's been 4 months (wow has it flown by!) since I've had my beautiful baby girl Stormy and let me tell you how things have changed! Of course my life is crazy with baby, business (wedding season) home, and everything else we do on a daily basis that we take for granted until you have a baby and realize how easy you had it before. Now of all the changes that have happened in the last 16 weeks the one that has been the most shocking for me is my skin and hair which are super dry. Now my hair, "OH LAWD", my poor hair is having a break down. Now I know it's normal to lose hair after having a baby since you don't lose much while you're preggo. And I know that it's normal to lose about 100 strands a day. But when your losing clumps of hair that's a no bueno situation.

Now seeing your hair fall out everyday after a while does take a toll, especially after having a baby and trying to get your body back and dealing with the stress of everyday life. The last thing you want to see while you're taking your well deserved shower and your first quiet time of the day is hair on your comb and all over you and the tub/shower floor. After seeing all this mess I was going to take a pair of clippers and have a Britney Spears moment but my family, friends, and hairstylist convinced me not to do it. But I did take off 4-5 inches of hair. Now it's to my shoulders.

A few weeks ago I came across a blog named Mama NYC and she was getting 25 bloggers together to do a review and giveaway for this HOT product called Viviscal. How does it work? Viviscal is a natural vitamin that's taken twice a day for hair loss. They claim you see results within 6 months. It's been featured on Dr. Oz which is like Oprah in that once he endorses something then you know it's good. A few others that you've probably heard of that use the product and swear by it are Reese Witherspoon, Mila Kunis, and many more.

Review on Nume Flat Iron

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

Image 3
I must admit that sometime ago I received this Nume flat iron to try out and give a review on and have been so busy with life, business, and being pregnant that I hadn't gotten a chance to do it. I apologize for the delay and I'm now getting time to do this much needed and deserved review.

As most of you may know, I have naturally coiled curly hair and most of the time I wear it naturally. But I do love mixing it up and getting my hair blown out. I like to wear it blown out mostly in the cold weather months since I don't have to worry about any frizz. That being said, when I received this flat iron I was in between hairstylists (and still am) and was in need of a serious trim. So I waited until I went back home (Chicago) to get my hair trimmed with my amazing hairstylist/aunt.

A few weeks before I received this Vintage Nume Flat Iron, my Chi that I had for almost 5 years MELTED. Yes, you read that right, it MELTED. I don't know what happened or how it happened but it did and I'm glad I caught it before it really got ugly. But back to the real flat iron and super star. This beauty is made of 100% ceramic iron that helps give shine and keeps moisture in the hair's cuticle. It has a temp control dial and heats up in a few seconds so no need to wait around to do your hair. The iron design is curved at the edges to use as a curling iron too. And it comes with a 3-year warranty. How awesome is that?

Let's get down to the real important stuff like how it worked on this SUPER noodle head Glammie. Well, after blow drying my hair and having no products in it, I sectioned my hair and got started. Now I have a lot of hair but it's thin so it took about 15-20 minutes to do it. That might sound like a lot of work to some folks but once I flat iron and style, I won't have to use the iron again for a few days. Most of the time I have to do 1 section of hair twice but with Nume I only had to do the section once. My hair was left so silky smooth and with no flyaways which I hate!

At the time I was working at Sephora and everyone at work thought I had permed my hair or had done Kertain. NOPE it was all done with the Nume Vintage iron that I have now had for a few months and love. I have used it on some clients and they have purchased their own and have thanked me for introducing them to Nume. I highly recommend the Nume Vintage to all my Glammies.

The Vintage is available in three colors purple, pink, and black. $145 Nume was nice enough to share a SURPRISE discount code with my Glammies. Enjoy!

Top Coat
Sexy Hair Reinvent Color Care Top Coat

I found this a few weeks ago when I was in between hair color and my hair was looking a bit dull. This is a glossier to help your dull hair have shine and a healthy look to it again. Very easy to apply, after conditioner apply a generous amount of top coat all over hair and leave on for 3-5 minutes. I left mine on for 10 minutes since I was in the office working.

After my hair had more shine and looked a lot healthier. No dull looking hair and you can use this every week. $11.99-14.79 available on Amazon SleekHair

Hairy Wednesday w/ Silk Elements Mixed Silk Nourishing Deep Conditioner

A product thumbnail of Silk Elements Mixed Silk Nourishing Deep Conditioner

As some of my Glammies may know by now that I'm a natural girl w/ naturally coil curly hair. But the kool thing is I can wear my hair from curly to silky straight w/ blow drying and flat iron. I must say that I have the best of both worlds. With wearing my hair curly I need to deep condition my hair 1x a week to keep my curls soft, moisturized, hydrated.

I'm always on a search for the next new best products for my curly hair and was doing my normal online shopping and came across this deep conditioner from Silk Elements. The reviews that were given online sounded really good and decided at $5.99 on sale w/ my Sally's card was not bad to try it out.

Directions say to leave on for 3 minutes but I left mine for 20 minutes since I was working while deep condition. I rinsed and can feel the difference and once I walked out the shower, I can see the difference. It left my hair so soft and my curls were a bit loose. Through out the few days my hair still felt soft and curls were nice and healthy looking. A+

  • hydrates & detangles
  • Leaves curls bouncy
  • Intensive moisture

Silk Elements Mixed Silk Nourishing Deep Conditioner is specially formulated to leave curls bouncy, vibrant, and healthy-looking! An indulgent, intensive moisture treatment that restores hair while it hydrates and detangles. Curls are left smooth, silky, and shiny.

Hairy Wednesday w/ Ouidad

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

I have naturally curly hair and last week with the rain, my hair was not cooperating with me. I purchase the Ouidad Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel. I followed the directions and applied to hair and Whoa frizzes were gone. It kept my frizzes & fly aways controlled and my hair in place. FYI You don't have to have curly hair to try this product. Pricing starts at $22 and up.

Ouidad Climate Control Gel for Taming Unruly Curly Hair
Heat-activated European Wheat Protein has a shielding effect on hair that breathes with the humidity, protecting the hair shaft and preventing hair from expanding. Amino Acids and Vitamin A nourish and hydrate hair, leaving it soft, manageable and full of shine. Water soluble to leave no build-up. Excellent at protecting hair from blow-dryer heat when a straight style is required.

Whether you're heading out on a hot, humid day or prepping for a night out, Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel by Ouidad blocks out the excess humidity that creates the frizz and flyaways that can shorten the life of your look. Even the most unruly curls are left calm, cool, and collected with a style that will last until you decide to change it.

Beauty Tip Of The Week (BTOTW) Aug 2- 6, 2010

Monday, August 2, 2010

Let's be real! Is you hair getting oily or just don't have time to wash your hair? Best thing you can do is use a dry shampoo for those in between washes. Or you can do it the old school style and add some baby powder on a brush or on the roots and brush out. It helps absorb the oils. Do this little by little. Below are a few products I can recommend from high to low price point.
